Been awhile, not much has happened

Posts have been few and far between in the mountains realm.

First off, no mountains trip this past fall, the mountains tournament has been at a stand-still for quite some time now. Not sure if we'll ever have the numbers to have a good tournament again.

The Mountains Challenge baseball fantasy league came and went. My 3 year reign of awesomeness came to an end in the first round of the playoffs. Where after dominating all season, my team decided to take a week off and I lost to Bronx Bombin'. The Bi-Winners came back and finished out the season with a 3rd place finish. The Championship was won by a pizza eating ginger, he probably cheated somehow. Gingers normally do. Below you can see the championship playoff tree and final standings.

The Mountains Fantasy Football League is underway. Think I'll do a power ranking on that after this week, right now the Dingleberries are leading the way with a 7-2 record in The Tops Division, Chain Gang is leading the Power Bottoms division with a 6-3 record. Only 5 more weeks to play.

2011 Tomato Festival Beer Chug

The 2011 Tomato Festival Beer Chug including last year's winner, Neal, newcomer Freddie, and veterans Paul and myself (Doug). This was not even a contest. Neal kicked our butts plain and simple. Had he not stopped on his last beer, he would have finished in under a minute. I need to practice a new technique if I want to win next year. I have to say I thought I was fast finishing in under 2 minutes. Wrong. I'm slow. Neal had us beat early and there was really no way to catch up. Fred finished 1 beer, I had followed through and finished my 6 beers, just for pride at that point.

Can't wait until next year, hopefully I can line up some more people to compete.

Updates and What not

Wow. It's been way too long. No update on this blog since the Beer Chug back in July.

The Fall tournaments have not happened, since attendance has been minimal. There's really no point in even attempting the tournament, it just wouldn't work.

But we did have the Mountains Fantasy Football League, which was won by Paul. Good for him. We had enough to split the league into 2 divisions The Tops and The Powerbottoms. Here you can view the standings for yourself.

Jason (the Comeback Kidz) dominated all season long, even the first round of the playoffs. His team took the worst time to take a dump on him in the Championship game. Not million dollar belt for Jason! Paul gets the damn belt again. Bastard.

I've also updated the blog design a little too, I'll have to throw up a post here once a month. That's my goal this year.

2010 Tomato Festival Beer Chug

Last night we had the annual Tomato Festival Beer Chug. The competitors this year were Doug, Poon, and newcomer Neal.

Not much to say, proof is in the video. Doug's reign of terror is over, 4 years straight of winning the title has come to an end as Neal downed 6 pony bottles in record time.

Enjoy and until next year!

Mountains Spring Tournament 2010

The Fall 2009 Mountains Tournament, well that didn't really happen, but the Spring 2010 took place this past weekend. We're back!!!! This years challengers, Doug, Paul, Poon, and Kevin aka Unkie. No Bub, Hean, or Herman, they're a bunch of pussies.

Let's start with the recap from the Spring 2010 event. First up, the Wii Bowling Tournament. Unkie pretty much owned this event. He lost in the first round, but not by much and not again in the tournament. Unkie fell below 200 only once, he must have been practicing. Paul fell flat on his face with this event, he just did horrible. Poon did ok, he had some high scores. Doug left too many pins on the board to even compete with Unkie. Way to go Kevin.

Next up, the Horseshoe Tournament. Poon and Doug started things off while Unkie and Paul went off on an expedition, so they played to 21 (the mountains rule is we play to 15). Had Poon and Doug played until 15, Poon would have won, BUT they didn't and Poon lost to Doug. Once Paul and Unkie came back they had an epic match....wait, not epic, shitty match. Took them forever to finish. Doug took care of Paul easily. Poon didn't take to long to knock Unkie out, but the match between Poon and Paul had to go to closest to the pin takes the point no matter how far away. Then the match went into OT, with Poon winning 18-15. Doug took out Poon in no time and won the Horseshoes tournament just as darkness was setting in.

Well, this is going to be a short recap. First Unkie had already left and it was windy. Not a good wind either. Poon and Paul went yard in the first round, only 1 a piece though. Doug got 2 in the second round to take the lead, but Poon whacked out 3 to remain the HR Champ. Paul doesn't have any game and hit none.

This brings us to the recap of the newest event to the Mountains Tournament. The Beer Chug. The beer chug is a staple at the Tomato Festival, but is now apart of the tournament. Normally we chug 7 ounce pony bottles, but the beer distributor did not have any for some dumb reason. We had to chug 10 ounce cans, we only did 3 a piece. Doug won, with Paul coming in 2nd, Poon was a close 3rd, Unkie just was horrible. Paul will say he couldn't get the cans open easy, but that's part of the chug.
